Why do Malaysian businesses need a different kind of chatbot?
A customer in Malaysia might ask about your prices in English, follow up in Malay and send the next message in Chinese. Many will message you on WhatsApp before they ever open your website, and many will do it after office hours. A chatbot that only speaks one language, or only lives on a website, misses most of that.
Gydr was built with those habits as the starting point. One chatbot answers on every channel you connect, in the customer's language, from one set of knowledge you write once.
Does it understand Malay, Chinese and Manglish?
Yes. Gydr reads the language of each message and replies in it: English, Bahasa Melayu, Chinese, Tamil and more, 50 languages in all. When a message mixes English and Malay, Gydr answers in the language most of the message is written in, so a mostly-English question with a "lah" at the end still gets an English reply.
Your knowledge does not have to be translated three times. You can write your FAQs and product list in one language and Gydr will search them and answer in the customer's language. Product names, prices and codes stay exactly as you wrote them.
A WhatsApp chatbot for your own number
Gydr connects to the WhatsApp Business account you already own, through Meta's official signup. Your number can keep working in the WhatsApp Business app at the same time, so your staff can still reply by hand and Gydr answers the rest.
Meta charges WhatsApp Business messages by the message under its own pricing, separately from your Gydr plan. Gydr writes one complete answer per customer message, text and links together, so those charges stay predictable.
Which local help desks does it work with?
When a customer needs a person, Gydr passes the chat to the desk your team already runs, with the conversation so far attached. Live today:
- Zanroo Desk: live chats, with your desk seeing the conversation from the first message.
- CRMeja: live chats that open inside your WordPress dashboard.
- Zendesk: live chats through Zendesk Messaging, tickets, or both.
- Custom Desk: any help desk your developer connects using Gydr's published contract.
What about PDPA?
Gydr's own privacy policy, published by Code Tigris PLT, is written under Malaysia's Personal Data Protection Act 2010 (Act 709) as amended in 2024, alongside the GDPR. Inside the product you have tools that support your own obligations: you can erase everything stored about one visitor on request, chat history is kept for a period set by your plan, and significant actions are recorded in an audit log.
How you use the chatbot also matters, for example what you ask customers for and what you upload, so check what applies to your business.
Local help, from partners and a demo
If you would rather not set it up alone, two routes lead to a person. Book a demo and you are matched with a Gydr expert in your country, who walks through your own questions, channels and languages. Or work with a Gydr partner: agencies who set up and run chatbots for their clients, listed in the partner directory.
Agencies that want to offer AI chatbots to their own clients can apply to the partner program.
